VMS Enchances Key Broadcast Monitoring Product Offerings, Company Continues Drumbeat of New Product Offerings

San Francisco, CA – April 7, 2008 -- VMS, the worldwide leader in integrated media intelligence solutions, today announced major enhancements to two of the company’s key product offerings – reinforcing VMS’ continuing industry and technology leadership position.

First, VMS is deploying a major release to its current market-leading radio monitoring offering.

Each VMS-monitored radio news segment will now include both text and a link to the associated audio file. By simply clicking a button, the user will be able to preview the entire news clip. (Late last year, VMS deployed a new, proprietary digital monitoring network -- incorporating advanced speech-to-text technology – to capture over 10,000 hours per week of FM and AM radio programming from key markets across the country.)

This new product capability – called QuickListen – is unique in the media monitoring industry and compliments VMS’ QuickView product for video segment previewing from all 210 US markets – the only product of its type.

Second, VMS is unveiling a major enhancement to its current news transcript offering.

Until now, VMS transcripts include only the verbatim text from a select news program, with speakers identified. Now, each VMS transcript of any television or radio segment will also include a link to a QuickView video clip or a QuickListen audio clip – giving the user a more complete understanding of their specific media coverage.

Again, this new product capability is unique in the media monitoring industry and is part of the company’s ongoing effort to bring new and innovative solutions to the marketplace.

“VMS continues to be the innovation leader in the media intelligence space,” notes Peter Wengryn, President and CEO of VMS. “In addition to the service enhancements listed above -- in the past twelve months alone --VMS has:

  • Introduced new products including RealTime which allows users to search, track and view streaming broadcast video and closed-caption transcripts within minutes of airing from all 210 US markets;
  • Deployed a new, proprietary digital monitoring network incorporating advanced speech-to-text technology to capture over 10,000 hours per week of FM and AM radio programming from key markets across the country; and
  • Delivered the latest release of its proprietary industry-leading AdSight software platform which can deliver advertisements from more than 17,000 domestic magazines and newspapers directly through users.

“Only VMS offers a complete spectrum of solutions to meet the ever-changing needs of today’s communications professionals,” notes Wengryn.

This concentrated and coordinated activity is part of VMS’ Integrated Media Intelligence (IMI) strategic platform development initiative.   This product rollout, the introduction of RealTime, the next generation of the VMS InSight software platform scheduled for this year and the introduction of AdSight -- the company’s competitive ad intelligence solution -- were all part of Phase I.  Phase II begins later this year with the introduction of a series of products comprising key management dashboards focused on editorial content and quantitative analytics.
