Treasurer Hal Bardon reported the draft of preliminary financials indicate there may be a $10,000 to $20,000 surplus by the end of the year. Board of Directors The current board members will continue to serve and will maintain their current positions: President Ð Bill Penney, Treasurer Ð Hal Bardon, and Directors Ð Tim Allen, Keith Ford and Susan Hubly. The registered agent will continue to be Resort Management. Reserve Report Residents Gene Bisol and Fred Bartlett had questions about the Reserve Report and why it hadnÕt been updated. The consensus of the board is that an update at this time would be meaningless since the roofs are going to be replaced this year, as will the buildings be repainted. They have been working hard to provide social events despite COVID. * Caesar Perillo who was hired as a consultant for landscaping and irrigation issues. He teaches at the Rookery and works for Florida Conservation. * Diane Jensen who handles communications for Saratoga. Roofs President Penney reported negotiations are still ongoing as to who will replace the roofs damaged by Hurricane Irma more than three years ago. The insurance case was reopened last year when additional damage was discovered. The insurance company has approved $6 million for roof replacement but the association and the insurance company are at odds over who should do the work. Because soffits, gutters and skylights were also damaged, the association wants Kleinberger Corporation to do the work since it is also a general contractor. The insurance company wants its own company to be hired. Kleinberger is located in Naples; the company preferred by the insurance company is based in Colorado with a subsidiary in Orlando. The board hopes the matter is settled before rainy season. Pool Ettiquette President Penney said residents using the pool should follow the posted rules. Some have use the spa as a social center when it has a 10 to 15 minute time imit. Also, loud music and cell phone conversations around the pool are not allowed.
