03/12/19 Wallace Elementary PTO Meeting – Members Present: Renea Barker, Crissy Pohl, Melissa Schafer, Michael Kremer, Brittany Hogue, Sara Maule, Jess Keeling, Morgan Mescher, Lindsey Robertson, Morgan Halverson, Angie Ferguson Meeting Start: 6:50 pm Welcome and Introduction: Introduced ourselves and shared what our plans are for Spring Break. President’s Report: ? Submit newsletter entries by this Friday, 3/15. Include any upcoming events now through May. ? Volunteer survey will be coming home with kids after Spring Break. Renea shared vacancies that will need to be filled: Fall Fundraiser, Box Tops, Picture Day. If you are going to remain chair fill out the form so the next President knows. For Executive Positions we need to fill all but Treasurer (President, Vice President or Co-President, and Secretary). Talk to Crissy or Renea if you are interested in any of these positions. Principal’s Report: ? Not in attendance. Secretary’s Report: Reviewed February minutes. Morgan Halverson moved to approved. Brittany Hogue seconded. Approved. Treasurer’s Report: Reviewed Treasurer Report for February. Will change Membership Fee income to Other Income Category. Sara Maule moved to approve. Renea Barker seconded. Approved. Old Business: ? None. New Business: ? Wallace PTO Facebook: Sara Maule opened for discussion that a couple of parents noted the picture on the site is the old Wallace building. Do we want to start a committee or have a person who takes ownership for the site. It could also be revamped to make it a closed group. This would possibly allow us to post pictures from events. When weather improves we’ll get a new picture of the building for the FB page. Melissa Schafer will take charge of posting events etc. going forward. Send events to her or to Renea to be forwarded to her. Communications Chair in charge of social media and related duties is new position. Committee Reports: 1. Box Tops: Total was $382.70, significantly less than we usually have. 2. Book Fair: Financial reporting not yet fully completed. Sales were $10,110.00 – a new record! No one attended the special event. Almost all Silver Cord kids did not show up for their shifts, and Sara will be following up with their coordinator. 3. Special Events: Jess shared that for the roller-skating party they gave us a free party for May. She is going to check with Suzie for approval. Communication will be forthcoming if approved. Next year we may try restaurant nights for community building that can also be a fundraising source. 4. Academic Night: Everyone should have received email communication about the upcoming event. Morgan will put it in the newsletter, too. 5. Yearbook: Payments due by April 1 st . 6. Spring Fundraiser: Had meeting with Boosterthon at the beginning of the month. April 25 th will be the date. Goal is $20,000. She would like new library furniture from this fundraiser. This would be Phase 1 of a plan for the library. Boosterthon team will be here starting April 16 th to start connecting with each class. If we meet the school goal, one kid from each grade will be randomly selected to slime Suzie! For discussion: a. Name for the Fun Run: Wallace Dragon Trot was decided on b. Option to buy t-shirts: They’ll personalize them however we want, but this will require us to find corporate sponsors for a total of $2800.00 needed. Decided not to do it this year but may decide to do it in the future possibly. 7. Picture Day: This Thursday. Open Forum for Questions: ? Artome: Renea clarified the expectations from the company.
