2018 Special Management Program

Leafy Spurge- Spotted Knapweed

Cost Share Requirements:

All tax paying landowners of Crook County are entitled to have cost share for chemicals applied to designated weed and pests in Crook County. Must fill out and sign Special Management Program Agreement, and fulfill requirements associated.

Landowner

 *”Landowner” means any owner or lessee of state, municipal or private land, and included an owner of any easement, right-of –way or estate in the land.  Federal landowner means the federal agency having jurisdiction over any lands affected by the act.  (Wyoming Weed & Pest Control Act of 1973) Tittle 11, Chapter five, (a) (xx).

Purchasers of restricted use chemicals must have a valid certified private or commercial applicators license to purchase chemicals.  

There will be no charging of chemical to another party without prior authorization on file at the Weed and Pest office.

Supervisor may inspect any lands before, during or after application.

Doing Own Application:

Doing own application on Leafy Spurge and Knapweeds will receive approved chemical at 80% cost share (Up to $2,000.00 cost shared by the district). If landowner needs more funding, they must petition the Board for approval.

Chemicals must be applied in the fiscal year they are purchased.  Fiscal year is July 1– June 30.
Surfactant and Dye must be proportionate to chemicals purchased.

COMMERCIAL APPLICATION

Commercial application on lands owned or controlled by the cooperator; the cooperator is required to pay 20% of the total program cost. Upon completion of the work (paid receipts, daily application records, etc.) must be submitted to the District within 60 days for any reimbursement to be made.  

APPLICATION RATES:          Boom, boom less- $70.00 per Hr

                                Aerial- $9.00 per acre        

                                Spot Spraying - $50.00 per acre.

Any applications fees above the Districts approved rates are the responsibility of the cooperator; it is up to the landowner.

INTEGRATED MANGEMENT SYSTEM:

Biological Control: Goat/Sheep grazing, herders; Cost Share will be reviewed by the Board of Directors by a case to case basis.  (Must be pre-approved by the District Board)

This Special Management Program shell be in effect under the following provisions:

        a. As long as the County Mill Levy & the Wyoming Department of Agriculture funds are available for the program.

        b. It also may become necessary to put each cooperator on a prorated basis which will be determined by the District each year.
