You can not only impact others but...

Most non-profit organizations share the valued created by contributions and the tax benefits associated with donating. Let us share how your generosity can not only impact others, but effect your well-being. In an article published by Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley, the authors touted the benefits of giving aren't just limited to the recipients, but extend to the giver in the form of better health and happiness. Research suggests the same benefits come from donating to charities or volunteering your time. Here are some of the ways the article states giving is good for you and your community:

Giving makes us feel happy.
Giving is good for our health.
Giving promotes cooperation and social connection.
Giving evokes gratitude.
Giving is contagious.

With so many demands during the holiday season, it can be difficult to focus on the greater good your giving can create for everyone. Your donations to WEF increase our ability to support our students, as well as impact the overall well-being of the entire Wiseburn community. We hope through the process of giving you find much joy and happiness from your acts of generosity! Click here to read the entire article.

Whether a student is an aspiring soprano or just likes to sing along with the radio, they're bound to benefit from exposure to a formal music education. Learning music facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas. Benefits include discipline, learning a skill, managing performance, and working as part of a group.

The Wiseburn Education Foundation is proud to financially support WUSD's robust vocal and instrumental music programs. Your donations to WEF help facilitate the purchase of new instruments, music repertoire, speakers, stage panels, and instruction. Please join us for one of the Wiseburn's concerts highlighting our students' musical talents. The Winter Concert will be held on December 20th and 21st, Rock Around the Block on March 24, 2018, and Concert on the Green on June 8, 2018.

Wiseburn Education Foundation President, Debbie Felt, was honored to present Chet Pipkin and Matt Wunder of DaVinci Schools a check for $15,000 at their grand opening ceremony on December 9th. The money will support the Wiseburn-DaVinci Music Program lead by Toby Harwell.

Teacher grant money is hard at work at Anza Elementary, in Jordan McKenna and Suzanne Guidi’s classrooms, with the purchase of a 3D printer. During the Genius Hour, students develop 3D designing skills using Tinkercad and bring their designs to life with the use of their new 3D print machine. In addition, students are cultivating public speaking skills while presenting their projects to the entire class. Creating holiday ornaments was their first endeavor.  Both the Tickercard software and ED printer are a big hit!
